Visits to local libraries have drastically

fallen over the last few years, and we want to increase visitor numbers.

Studies have

suggested that children aged 8-12 from disadvantaged backgrounds are less likely to visit their local

library, so us at Olympic Reading want to draw as many of these children in as possible.

we know that targeting children is not ethical, so instead parents should be targeted.

we created this website specifically aimed at parents of this age group, and want to give as

much information as possible about the benefits of reading, the benefits of local libraries, in addition

to promoting events that are happening in libraries across Derbyshire.
